There are many benefits to hands-on learning. At Jill Abrams Tutoring we incorporate many hands-on activities which improve problem solving, increases student retention and engagement and benefits kinesthetic learners. At Jill Abrams tutoring we understand children have different learning styles therefore we provide students the opportunities to learn in different ways. For instance, a child that is struggling to understand the concept of money, we incorporate coins so students have a visual representation which, will lead to better retention. We also incorporate the use of whiteboards which are less intimidating to students (in comparison to pencil and paper) and it is something the student will enjoy using as well. Hands-on learning is the process of learning by doing and we understand this method is the most effective compared to traditional methods.
